Bartram's rose gentian

Sabatia bartramii

Description:

Composite pink flowering herbaceous plant. Light yellowish center of flower. No visible leaves. Resembled a "daisy type" flower with no indication of leaf or plant shape.

Habitat:

Growing in a manmade swamp. In a baldcypress forest. Subject was growing at the base of a bald cypress in standing water approximately six (6) inches to 1ten (10) inches of water depth.
