Description:

Lecidea is a genus of crustose lichens with a carbon black ring or outer margin (pic 3).Lecidea fuscoatra can appear grey, brown or reddish brown. Apothecia are black and rounded ( up to 1.6 mm in diam.).

Habitat:

Spotted on an exposed boulder at Mount Rainier. Elevation 6500 ft a.s.l.
