On a recent backpacking trip, I had been hiking approximately 9 miles into the wilderness before spotting this guy on the trail in front of me. He was no more than 60 feet before me on the trail. I quietly followed the moose, who was seemly unaware of me for a few minutes before he finally saw me. He then left the trail into the brush to the right. It was definitely the highlight of the trip!
