Lantern like seed pods on stems which are abrasive. It may be a grass

Habitat:

Sandy coastal dunes. Coastal regeneration areas

Notes:

Oh great, I have discovered the home of another weed! This was all through the dune regeneration area. I wonder if it has invaded or it was sown here to stabilise the sand while the slower natives established a population
