Description:

Large dragonfly, males with bright blue eyes.

Habitat:

This was one of several specimens roosting in the late afternoon amid a grove of elm trees adjacent to vast open fields and an arroyo (dry riverbed).

Notes:

Very abundant species on the high plains adjacent to the Front Range.
