Eastern Spadefoot

Scaphiopus holbrookii

Description:

A smaller toad, ranging throughout the east. As the name implies, it has a spade-like part on its hind foot, used for digging. Easily identified by its distinct parotid glands and the two yellow lines running down its back. Also, the eyes are quite unique compared to those of the true toads.
