Cormorants

Habitat:

Salt water, tidal, lagoon

Notes:

These structures may no longer be in use due to local authorities building concrete bicycle paths close along the shore. It appears that most known species of Australian Cormorant are shown in this photo although the Black-faced is in doubt as it is well outside of their expected range Species shown. Great Cormorant (Shag) Phalocrocorax carbo Little Pied Cormorant, Phalocrocorax malanoleucos Pied Cormorant, Phalocrocorax varius Black-faced Cormorant, Phalacrocorax fuscescens Also present although barely visible at the lower left in one of the shots is Marsh Sandpiper Tringa stagnailis References to include "What Bird is That?" Neville W. Cayley although it is far from my favourite field guide as it weighs a ton!
