Turkey Vulture

Cathartes aura

Habitat:

roadsides, suburbs, fields, landfills, and other open areas.

Notes:

It was nice that these guys were in the mood for posing; normally I haven't been able to get too close. One normally sees Turkey Vulture gliding high in the sky. There is a very tame bunch of Black Vultures down in the everglades which I've been able to take some close pics of, but the Turkey's normally keep their distance.
