Owl Moth

Description:

The Owl moth Has Two large spots or Eyes that often resemble the eyes of an Owl, Hence the name. The Wingspan from tip to tip of this specimen is about 16 centimeters.

Habitat:

Found at a plateau area in the Western Ghats. Rare- mostly spotted on tree barks and near dense jungle areas.

Notes:

The moth is Nocturnal Can be approached without flying off.
