Hairy Bracket

Trametes hirsuta

Description:

The semi-circular brackets are white to cream, with brown edge, and velvety on their upper surface. Brackets are up to 8cm across, and adjacent caps are occasionally fused laterally. On touch, flesh is cork-like tough.

Habitat:

Found on deadwood on forest floor in marshlands- protected marshes of Prodon, Geneva lake valley.
