Valanga irregularis
Giant grasshoppers are the largest grasshoppers in Australia. The adult's body length varies from 90mm to less than half that size which, along with its extraordinary colour variations, gives it the scientific name Valanga irregularis. Giant grasshopper nymphs change colour with each moult.

Thanks Sarah! They're pretty cool. I'm always amazed by the variety of colours on these nymphs (but I wish they'd stop eating my vegie garden).
Love the eyes :-)
