Wood Frog

Lithobates sylvaticus

Description:

These Wood Frogs breed in spring in vernal pools. This specimen is brownish tan to blend in with the leaf litter. Some other specimens I have found in the field have been dark brown to an almost pink color.

Habitat:

Wooded area next to local vernal pool in a Fish and Wild life area.
