Hi Shanna. Well there is a census on to estimate their population and very soon their status level may go to endangered. They are only found in New Zealand and even there only at high altitudes in the alpine regions. They are quite rare to spot in the wild.

Hi Tashu, and welcome to Project Noah! This is an amazing picture - I haven't seen one of these parrots before. I looked up your reference and it says these guys are listed as Vulnerable. Do you see them often where you live, or are they quite rare?
