Virginia Ctenuchid Moth Caterpillar

Description:

Caterpillar has mostly black hairs with a stripe of yellow hairs on each side of the back. Prolegs are orange. Red markings on eyes as shown in this picture

Habitat:

Wet meadows, lawns and other grassy areas.

Notes:

These caterpillars have two color phases. One is black and yellow, as this one is, the other is white and yellow.
