Description:

More stocky and compact than other damselflies it is likely to be confused with.

Habitat:

Flitting among the weeds along an arroyo (dry streambed), with a male nearby. General habitat is dry, open field with scattered cottonwood, willow, and elm trees along the riparian corridor.

Notes:

Males are red and black.
