Black racer

Coluber constrictor constrictor

Description:

While insects are part of this snake's diet, this individual seemed quite content to allow a blue-tipped damselfly to rest on different parts of its body, including its head! The damselfly finally flew off and the snake left its sunny spot for another part of the forest.

Habitat:

Mason Farm Biological Reserve
