Common Chaffinch

Fringilla coelebs

Description:

A male chaffinch at Lake Ianthe, West coast NZ. He was "demanding" to be fed, and so we did, after he ate the toast bread we gave him, he flew away. The species was introduced to NZ, in 19th century, and it is now a very common bird.
