Danaus chrysippus

Description:

Medium-sized butterfly with a wingspan of about 7–8 cm. The butterfly has a tawny forewings with a broad black apical border bearing a series of white spots. The hind wing has 3 black spots around the center ans has a thin border of black enclosing a series of semicircular white spots. Upper side being brighter and richer than the underside

Habitat:

Widespread in Asia and Africa

Notes:

This was at the Zanzibar butterfly Center
