Brown Jay

Cyanocorax Psilorhinus morio

Description:

Brown Jays were once a non-review species, now they have become a sought after prize... The appearance of this Brown Jay was the first for the Salenino in five years. What started as an adult with 2 juveniles, has now turned into just an adult coming to the feeders nearly daily right now (But not guaranteed!). Brown Jays are also seemingly split into two races. The southern variation of Brown Jay has a ligher colored belly and extensive white under it's tail feathers to the tip. This Northern variation, is mostly brown with a dark belly and fully brown tail. They are the largest Jay species found in North America, and have an extensive range from Panama up to the MX / TX border.
