Neumichtis archephanes

Neumichtis archephanes

Description:

A small to medium moth (24mm) with tented wings at rest and complex patterns of blue-grey, cream, chocolate and tan. Scalloped appearance at outer margin of wings.

Habitat:

Back yard of suburban home.

Notes:

Resting on a timber deck this little guy seemed quite unperturbed by the camera flash and my presence. I suspect it was very recently ecloded and yet to learn fear :). http://bie.ala.org.au/species/urn:lsid:b...

Very nice. I agree. It looks like one of the arches moths. (Laudabilis in NA, not sure if the genus is a worldwide genus or not..)
