Lamium amplexicaule

Description:

Low growing annual weed. Small pink to purple flowers, hairy. Flowers resemble the flowers on Horsemint (Lemon Beebalm)

Habitat:

Fields, pastures, gardens, yards, lawns. Can spread aggressively.

Notes:

Leaves, stem and flowers are edible. Blooms mid to late winter in warm climates.

Helena, for this shot I used an iPhone 4s camera and an Olloclip macro lens (which clips onto the iPhone.) We had fog and a light rain this morning, makes for pretty pictures :)

Yes this is a great community. Lots of help to learn about new things. Your photo is wonderful. Henbit is a lovely weed and I leave as much as I can for the bees. There are lots of missions for flowers; you might want to add this spotting to Texas in Bloom; http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/1122...

Yes you can edit any of your posts. If you are on the web version, click on Spottings under your My Noah (left side panel). This will bring up a page that has all your spottings and you can click on the one you wish to edit. When you get the spotting page on the right by your name is the "edit this spotting" Hope this helps :) Welcome to Noah
