Twig Snake

Thelotornis capensis

Description:

A twig snake, excellent at hiding in trees. It is extremely venomous, but very shy and it's a rear-fanged snake - its fangs are at the back of its mouth and quite small (as is the mouth itself) so it would have to have a really good chew on you to actually inject its poison.

Habitat:

Bush/scrub forest, frequently descending to ground level to get around or chase prey, but defaulting and fleeing to trees.

Notes:

It is useful to have Australians in your party to encourage you to, for some reason, pursue a venomous creature into its bushy territory!
