Description:

The dark-eyed junco is a round,dark-eyed bird with slate-gray to charcoal chest, head and back. White belly. Pink bill. The female is tan to brown in color.

Habitat:

Common throughout the US. Winters in the Dakotas. This dark-eyed junco was spotted in a campground in Keystone, SD, which is located within the Black Hills National Forest.
