Fifteen-spotted Lady Beetle

Anatis labiculata

Description:

Little ladybug, probably around 8 mm or so in size. But instead of the usual orange colour I'm used to, this one was white with black spots. Roundish-oval shape. The species darken with age.

Habitat:

Found in Ontario, and the States, and sometimes as far as Manitoba (like this one who flew through my window in Winnipeg). Found in forests & woods.

Notes:

There are 5,000 species of ladybugs described worldwide, and 450 just in North America.
