Brown Marmorated Stink Bug

Halyomorpha halys

Description:

First insect spotting of 2013, and in the middle of winter! Smaller, mottled, brown bug with white and black markings along the edge of the abdomen. Distinctive light bands on antennae make them identifiable from other similar looking Stink Bugs.

Habitat:

Found inside my work place (veterinary hospital).

Notes:

Native to Asia, invasive and spreading in North America. It was slightly warmer on the day I found this guy inside but it is winter. No idea where it came from.
