Mysidia sp
What looks like a butterfly or moth is actually a planthopper in the Derbidae family. The body is around 5mm long, with very long forewings, giving the insect a wingspan of around 4cm. Main colour is white, with a beige patch behind the head and big dark red eyes; the wings are semi-translucent, of a very light blue with a 'hairy fringe on hindwings.
These were plentiful at night, gathering on trees in the rainforest on the Osa peninsula, bordering the Corcovado NP.
