Alkali Grasshopper

Trimerotropis salina

Description:

Very difficult to distinguish from the Pallid-winged Grasshopper, but dark bands on the front wings are usually less distinct in the Alkali Grasshopper.

Habitat:

Found on a trail through a riparian corridor in a mostly urban area. Understory grasses and herbs, overstory trees are elm and cottonwood. Preferred habitat is alkali flats and lakeshores, in extremely hot, arid areas.
