This is a baby vervet monkey, it was being hand reared by a local couple in Zambia, and was recently released back into the wild with a few other rehabilitated vervet monkeys

I agree with Karen, and suggest that this is a baby chacma baboon. As youngsters their face is pink and not yet elongated.

Hi Rebecca, this looks like a young baboon but it's difficult to be certain without seeing more of the animal. Do you have any more photos you can add?

Hi Rebecca, this is not a Vervet Monkey. Vervet Monkeys have black faces. Refer to the link please: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vervet_monk...

I suggest you remove the ID until it has been identified correctly. It is really helpful to have photos of the complete organism in order to help with identification. Thank you!

Hi Rebecca, since you know the ID of your organism, please go ahead and add the scientific name so it can be removed from the unidentified list. The scientific name for the vervet monkey is Chlorocebus pygerythrus. Thanks!
