Boletus scaber
Cap 1-5 inches. Broad, commonly convex, glabrous and viscid when moist, sometimes minutely tomerntose, sub velvety or even squamulose. Tubes generally long, free, leaving a deep broad depression around the apex of the stem, white, then sordid, their mouths minute, rotund, flesh white, or whitish, sometimes changing to brown or pinkish. Stem 3-5 inches long.
