Longnose Hawkfish

Oxycirrhites typus

Description:

About 11 cm. Lovely Longnose Hawkfish with a...long nose! Vertical and Horizontal red stripes. It moves very fast from one point to another. It seems to zap from one place to another, as if you just blinked your eyes a bit too long.

Habitat:

This one I spotted at about 15 meters, in a soft coral fan. In the Celebes sea, Sipadan, Sabah, Borneo, Malaysia.

Notes:

This one was not alone! Most of the time, ( if I get lucky to find one), I see only one. This dive I spotted 5! All in different spots except for this one. He/She popped up when I was trying to take a picture of an even smaller Longnose Hawkfish. Maybe they were related or they were a couple or just BFF. I was VERY excited! I love these fish.
