Lesser Black-backed Gull

Larus fuscus

Description:

We spotted this guy in the distance (hence the unclear image), on a local suburban pond full of seagulls, ducks and Canadian geese. We think he is a lesser black-backed gull, but aren't sure, since they are not typical for this area. Any help would be appreciated!

Habitat:

Pond near Long Island Sound.

Great Black-backed would be bulkier in build and bill.

I forgot to mention that he was about the same size as a ring-billed gull, so I don't think he's a great black-backed gull.
