Description:

Tall flightless birds native to Australia. Emus have only three toes, which is an adaption for running. The plumage has unique adaptions to absorb solar radiation that prevent the bird from overheating. Emus have good eyesight and hearing, which allows them to detect threats at some distance.

Habitat:

Spotted at the Woodland Park Zoo.
