A Barn Swallow spotted in Yala National Park, Sri Lanka. The barn swallow is the most widespread species of swallow in the world also known just as a Swallow. It is a distinctive passerine bird with blue upperparts and a long, deeply forked tail. It is found in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas.

Hi Chris, lovely bird and a great shot. However, I took a bit of liberty, and removed the spotting form "Birds of Europe" mission - even though its breeding range includes Europe, this swallow was observed well outside the continent... Hope you don't mind my intervention.
