Tyto longimembris
These are the four owlets of my previous spotting. The eldest is four to five weeks old. The chicks get out of the egg with a gap of four to five days apart.
High elevation grassland.
Keep trying, dear! Practice practice practice, and hang around people who are knowledgable about the Amazing Philippine environment. Haribon foundation or Philippine Eagle Foundation (I worked there for a few months) is a good place to start.
Thanks Karen and Ashish. that's what I'm thinking too - no barn owl in the Philippines unless somebody imports it from their homeland. But this one is wild of origin, well Im not that good with birds. Happy New Year and new life to everybody!
Lovely!!!! However, Tyto alba is not found in the Philippines. Their close relative the Philippine Grass Owl, Tyto longimembris is, and considering the fact that your nest is in grassland, I would feel confident that your owls are a Philippine Specialty- Tyto longimembris.
BTW... I love your name! :)
They are beautiful, Shekai. Happy New Year to you and your loved ones. @Jolly, Happy New Year also! :)
