Whirligig Mite

Anystis sp.

Description:

Small red, 8 legged insect only 3 mm long with darker, double stripe down the center. These are two different mites but of the same species.

Habitat:

Lemon trunk and Pomelo leaf in backyard.

Notes:

"The legs seem to radiate out from a single point. It allows them to turn quickly and that's where they get their common name." --Kaitlin Uppstrom
