Male White-winged Crossbills feeding on pinecones in my yard. You can see the bird in the third picture using its beak and tongue to remove the seeds from the pinecone.

Wonderful images: Great series!
This is the first time I have seen these birds in Calgary, they have been visiting my pine tree every day for over a week now!
They have been sighted in Pa. this winter, but I do not believe in the eastern portion where I am located. I need this bird and the Red Crossbill for my life list
