Double-crested Cormorant

Phalacrocorax auritus

Description:

Large water bird with dark brown-black plumage. Orange bill and face, short dark legs with webbed feet. Juveniles are lighter brown. Feeds on fish.

Habitat:

Man-made, freshwater lagoons.

Notes:

Picture two shows one of the Cormorants having a discussion with an Anhinga, perhaps over the best roosting spot.
