This palm lives alongside a concrete bicycle track in a Maleleuca swamp. The base is regularly submitted to shallow inundation. There is a Native Violet (Viola hederacea) ground cover around it. It is protected by being in the territory of Bull Joe Jumping Ants (Giant Jumper, Myrmecia ) which actually hunt visitors such as this photographer
