Cycad

Cycas sp.

Description:

The "Cycads" are often confused with ferns because they have many fern-like traits. However, they produce true Seeds while ferns and the preceding taxa do not. They were once abundant and formed a dominant component of the world's vegetation.

Notes:

However their reproductive leaves are highly modified and are clustered into Cones like this from a "Cycas sp".
