Rough-skinned Newt

Taricha granulosa

Description:

Small, with a brown body and bright orange belly. Its skin was bumpy and secretes a deadly neurotoxin.

Habitat:

Pacific Northwest forests and bodies of freshwater

Notes:

Found on my driveway after heavy rainfall. It was probably migrating. Either female or a male not in breeding season, judging by its skin.
