Ceratiomyxa fruticulosa var. porioides
Fructifications sessile, honeycomb like, white. Spores borne individually on slender stipes, colorless by transmitted light, ovoid to elliptical, 5-7 × 9-10 μm. in diameter, varying in few to subglobose or globose, then 6-7μm in diameter. The honeycomb-like fruiting bodies that superficially resembles a minute polypore is distinct separating this taxon from the other varieties of Ceratiomyxa fruticulosa.
North America, Europe, South Africa, Asia (China, Japan, Taiwan ). Dead wood, bark of living trees.
