Scutus breviculus

Description:

A living Scutus breviculus (spotted at Taylor's mistake, Christchurch NZ), and the internal shell of the species (spotted at Karaka bay, Wellington NZ). The mantle over its back can be parted gently to show its large shield-shaped shell. I didn't knew that when I snapped the pics :(
