Verreaux's Eagle Owl

Description:

This species is widespread in sub-Saharan Africa. It is the largest African owl, measuring up to 66 cm (26 in) in total length. Large eagle owl with short, tousled ear-tufts.

Habitat:

Lives from arid semi-desert, to moist, tall woodlands. It frequents areas with well-developed trees, dry savannah woodlands and places bordering forests and thickets. It is absent from treeless desert and continuous forest, but it is common in open woodlands
