These adorable beetles are harmless, and make very cute "kissing" sounds if they are frightened. They can even be kept in a cool moist terrarium with lots of clean garden soil (no chemicals!) and fed veggies. They'd love a nice rotting chunk of wood to munch on too. (I've kept Bess Beetles in my former classroom before.)
