Verbascum undulatum
Verbascum undulatum is a wavy leaf mullein that is very widespread in the whole of the Mediterranean basin. Together with V. sinuatum they are the most commonly occurring species in Greece. The thick felty grey-green basal leaves are wavy in a more complicated, and occasionally interesting and fine, way, that makes you think that their leaf rosettes must have been a source of inspiration for architectural marble sculpting in ancient Greece, besides species of the genus Acanthus. The plant usually produces one or more large multi-branched flower stems, with beautiful yellow flowers that have stamens with white filaments and yellow anthers. It was spotted in Makrynitsa village, Pelion mountain, Greece.
