A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
A tiny male Webspinner with wings. It was only about 5 mm long. Note the expanded tarsomere on the front legs which contains the silk producing organelles used for the protective silk tunnels they build to protect themselves and their young from predators. Both adult sexes and all nymphal instars can produce silk. Order Embioptera.
This one was in the bathroom sink after coming through the window.
