Horned bladderwort

Utricularia cornuta

Description:

An aquatic carnivorous plant that feeds on microscopic invertebrates. It manages to trap them in small pear-shaped sacs that open up when triggered by unsuspecting prey. They are later digested by enzymes and bacteria inside the sac that provide nutrients for the plant.

Habitat:

Found in wet prairies.
