Xanthopastis timais
Black and white stripes with white spots First and last segments orange.
Feed on Amaryllidaceae, Iridacae and Liliaceae.
Two years ago they showed up in our neighborhood in the spring. They devastated most of the amaryllis. They weren't as bad this spring. This is the first time I've noticed them in the fall. Their diet makes them toxic to predators. Adults are known as the Spanish Moth.
