A large white and hairy spider, about palm sized. Named after the artiste David bowie to create attention towards the spiders at large. Found in the Peninsular region, and thought to be declining in numbers.

Heteropoda davidbowie is distinguished by its large size and yellow hair. Bowie was selected for the honor because of his musical contribution to arachnid world – the 1972 album The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars.
