Indian Flying Fox

Pteropus gigantus

Description:

They are also known as Great Indian Fruit Bats. They have a large wing span of 1.2 m to 1.5 m . They are nocturnal feeds on ripe fruits and gregarious .

Habitat:

Found on trees in mine Punjabi University , Patiala.

Ya.. u could say that but here in Northern side of India biodiversity is not so rich as it is in southern side but I think it is good to watch a lots of species here but I only lacks a good DSLR camera ... these all images are clicked by mine compact camera ...:)

you must be very lucky to have many amazing wildlife around your area
Mine is spammed with Cockroaches, moths, pill bugs and wood louse not forgetting the crickets xD

Thanks Luis , Maria and Cindy ... it was amazing to watch them .. I also feel lucky because I was in search of mine 65th spotting and happy to get them . They come during winters and I find them at two locations in my hometown (Patiala).

How lucky to see them in person! Thank you for sharing.
